Toa Kazi, which literally means "design work" in Kiswahili, was born in 2002, the birth child of two young women in Washington, DC, committed to using our natural creativity as a means of liberating ourselves from the traditional 9 to 5 and better serving our community. From the beginning, we understood: "the best is always handmade." And to that end, we produced one-of-a-kind, quilted throws, bedding and pillows, and presented them at local shows. Not long after, we discovered that a natural complement to our cozy linens would be a luxurious line of products for body care. First came moisturizing body butter, then the exfoliating scrub, and before long, we had crafted "Sweet Indulgence," our complete spa care line. Toa Kazi has since grown into a family-owned company, and, while we still create beautiful home décor linens, our "Sweet Indulgence" line has become the cornerstone of our business.

Toa Kazi spa care products are made from the earth. And what could be more natural than that? We use the finest ingredients to produce the most healing body care products around. Our body butter is rich with creamy, organic shea butter. Our scrubs are crafted with the purest exfoliates and moisturizers. Our spa salts moisturize and sooth with wholesome herbs and minerals from the dead sea. And all are scented with delicious essential and fragrance oils. Our greatest joy: we carefully handcraft small batches of our products to preserve the greatest integrity of each container we fill. And that’s not all. Many of our spa care products have dual purposes and most can be used from head to toe! Truly, Toa Kazi’s “Sweet Indulgence” is the natural solution to healthy skin and hair.

In addition to our linens and spa care, we occasionally create jewelry handcrafted in unique gemstones and other natural elements, and clothing, usually made from the natural fabrics of cotton, linen, wool and Bogalon Fini (mudcloth) made in Mali, West Africa. These one-of-a kind pieces are seldom featured on our website, but can be found at our national events, as well as our local Washington, DC-area events.
